About
This blog is intended to give practical advice and help to young leaders. It is mostly oriented towards church leadership, though some of the topics certainly extend beyond that. By young leaders we mean at least three things- leaders who are, in fact, young, leaders who may not be young but are just getting started at leading, and beyond that, possibly folks who are trying to understand young people more generally.
The most helpful thing that could happen here would be for people to write tons of comments and guest posts so that we can get a real sense of connection across the interwebs.
We’d love to run guest posts from young leaders and those who love them- send them to jeff@mercyvineyard.org
About the Blogger
My name is Jeff Heidkamp. I started leading Christian groups in college, and since then, I’ve worked in just about every capacity possible- small group leader, parachurch leader, small group coach, worship leader, ministry director, associate pastor, church planter, senior pastor, church planting coach, and on the side, magazine editor. In 2005 my wife Le Que and I moved to Minneapolis to start Mercy Vineyard Church, which is now a young, vibrant congregation of over 600 people. We have two daughters- Briana (7) and Raina (2).
I am very interested in leadership, theology, culture, church planting, and multiethnicity. For fun I like to cook, lift weights, watch sports and politics, and hang out with my family.
